Amanda Averack
Musical Director

Amanda, a senior, has made her way from the boring little suburban town of Cheshire, CT that just couldn't seem to handle her infinite spunk and corny jokes. There is no doubt that performing runs in her blood, because if she's not studying for her possible BCS and Music double major, she's off doing musical, singing Ella Fitzgerald, or tickling the ivories.

Outside of rehearsal, Amanda loves lounging around in comfy pjs, watching foreign films, and listening to classic rock. She likes vintage jewelry and polka dots, and is both a TLC design show junkie and an unmanageable caffeine addict, to which she credits her usual smile and bouncy personality.

Jessica Briggs
Co-Business Manager 

Jessica is a senior from Baltimore, MD, and is excited for the upcoming year. she tends to be somewhat accident-prone, but when she isn't running into walls, she likes to practice her mediocre percussion skills.

Jessica (also known as "Ica" )also has a mild obsession with her Siberian husky named Azul and her puggle (thats a beagle and a pug). she enjoys playing in the rain, eating sushi, and procrastinating all day long.

Polly Flinch

Polly is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and believes there is nothing better than sweet tea, fried chicken, and biscuits. Although psyched to be attending the U of R, Polly can't help but feel that she might be slightly crazy for coming here based on what she has ehard about the blustery Rochester winters.

When not singing away in Vocal Point rehearsals, Polly likes to drive her roommate crazy by commenting on the light course load she has compared to everyone else on her hall. Polly also likes eating Tostitos with cheese dip while sitting on the floor with her friends, avoiding work at all costs, spending money that she doesn't have, and drinking ridiculous amounts of coffee.

Lindsey Garrison

Lindsey "Gary" Garrison is from Jenkintown, PA, right outside the great city of Philadelphia. A Music - Vocal Performance major at River Campus she enjoys spending time with friends, sitting and EATING in Starbucks, and watching her Phillies kick butt. When she isn't singing with Vocal Point, Lindsey can usually be seen working as a College Marketing Representative for Sony Music, as a PR Representative for the Panhellenic Excutive Council, or as a college student enjoying work and life. After college she hopes to either become the next, better, Erin Andrews for ESPN, be working in Music Publicity for Columbia Records, or move to the west coast to pursue a career in Fashion PR.

Gracie Weinstein

Abroad

Gracie is originally from Westchester, New York. She has no idea what she wants to do post-college, but is currently majoring in Spanish and Religion. Her mother has suggested that she become a Puerto Rican Rabbi.When not singing with Vocal Point Gracie enjoys visiting her "adopted" Rochester grandmother, watching House, wegmans shopping, and dried fruit. 


Gillian Friedman
Merchandise Coordinator & Social Chair

Gillian is a sophomore from the little known town of Holmdel on the shores of Jersey. She is majoring in music and minoring in business. Between eating tons of cereal and frozen Amy's dinners, she spends her time playing in the snow with her friends and teaching them to play mah-jongg!

Gill is unbelievably clumsy but her friends claim that it is endearing. She has an obsession with napping and American Apparel, as her wardrobe clearly shows. Most importantly, Gill was just named 2009's cuddling champion :)

Hannah Silver

Hannah, the soph newb, hails from the Big Apple and loves it. With an undecided major she’s leaning towards either public health or economics (or both? we’ll see…). Hannah is a spunky girl with a fun personality who loves to have fun and bro out. She also is a big fan of activities involving snow, making her one of the few people to look forward to Rochester winters.

Outside of rehearsals, Hannah loves to watch TV on her computer, and has currently become obsessed with the show Glee. She also enjoys listening to bad ‘90’s pop, reading Harry Potter, and her favorite sports are swimming and volleyball. Her dream is to go back in time and be part of the Spice Girls, or to appear on a talk-show. In her freshman year, Hannah collected over 200 gum wrappers and now makes wall decorations out of them in her room.

Claire Crowther

Claire is from a town just outside of Boston known as Wellesley, MA. Though an undecided major, she likes history, music, and languages. She likes to keep busy and usually goes to bed very late for no reason. Claire is a horrible procrastinator and while at U of R, hopes to break her habit of being habitually late. So far so good.
When not singing, Claire can usually be seen eating salad with Italian dressing and drinking Earl Grey tea (with milk and sugar). She loves the fall, running outside, and holidays. She dislikes eating red meat and enjoys wearing tee-shirts and moccasins.

Jamie Wilson

Jamie Wilson, from Long Island, NY, is a freshman at The University of Rochester.  She is planning on majoring in music with a minor in psychology.  She also has a great  interest in music cognition.  After college, she hopes to become an elementary school music teacher. Ever since she was little she has always loved to perform.  She started singing and harmonizing with her mom at a very young age and now she is super excited to be making beautiful music with the lovely ladies of Vocal Point! Along with singing, Jamie loves music theory, arranging, playing other instruments (her favorite is the ukulele) and just listening to music in general. When she is not doing all things musical, Jamie can be found shopping, hanging out with friends or watching The Office.
